Honmura Club
A Youth Baseball Team for International Families
Honmura Club is a long-established youth baseball team founded in 1968, based at Azabu Baseball Field in Minato City, Tokyo.
We warmly welcome children and families from international schools, bilingual households, and diverse cultural backgrounds. Many of our current players come from a wide range of schools and nationalities.
Our Philosophy: Strong and Enjoyable
At Honmura Club, we believe that competitive baseball and enjoyment go hand in hand.
■Skilled, experienced coaches provide structured instruction
■Players are encouraged to challenge themselves without fear of failure
■Winning is important—but growth, confidence, and teamwork matter just as much
We create an environment where children improve because they love the game.
Coaching Style
Our coaches emphasize thinking, decision-making, and independence.
Instead of simply giving orders, we ask questions like:
“What options did you see on that play?”
This approach helps players:
■understand the game
■build confidence
■develop skills that extend beyond baseball
Character Development Through Baseball
Through daily practice and games, players learn:
■respect and sportsmanship
■responsibility and self-discipline
■teamwork and empathy
■gratitude toward teammates, opponents, and supporters
These values are central to our program.
Parent-Friendly & Flexible
We understand that many international families are new to Japanese youth sports.
■No rigid Japanese style “tea duty”
■Roles are shared flexibly, based on availability
■Clear communication and an open, welcoming culture
Parents are encouraged to be involved only to the extent that feels comfortable.
An Open and Inclusive Community
Honmura Club is a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment where:
■diversity is valued
■children can feel at home, regardless of background or experience
